Experience and expertise
Michael Egelston is Chief Executive Officer for Cities Management, Inc. and its sister companies, SenEarthCo, Inc. and Cities Maintenance, Inc. In that role he oversees all aspects of the organization including marketing, operations, and business strategy. Prior to being named CEO in September of 2004, Mike fulfilled a senior leadership position at Cities Management for four years. The three companies provide a suite of services for residential common interest communities.
Prior to joining Cities Management in the fall of 2000, Mike worked in the transportation and printing industries, managing several multi-million dollar operations the Twin Cities area. Mike has a proven track record in growing, managing, and turning around medium-sized businesses.
He is also a founding sponsor of the Minnesota Environmental Initiative, one of the largest and most successful nonprofits in the state. Mike was Chairman of that organization from 1996-2001. A self-described “matured hippy,” Mike has been involved in activist activities since college; the environmental movement being his favorite and most long-standing. From the fuel crisis of the 1970s to today’s ongoing environmental problems, Mike’s mantra has always been “do what you can, where you can, and when you can.” In each of the companies that Mike has managed he has taken the position that each and every step needs to have some consideration for its impact on the environment. From the days of Superfund until today, businesses and individuals have the opportunity to do what can help us today and into the future.
